Marking the 100th Anniversary of His Death
In October 1996 a group of enthusiastic fans of Anton Bruckner went to Upper Austria
for a few days centered around the 11th, to explore the world that Bruckner had grown up
in. We started talking about this trip in the early 1980s; then it was just dream
too far off in time to grasp. But we made it...
Here are some pictures take at the time. Digital photography was in it infancy in
1996, so the pictures taken (with a Casio QV30) are quite small and quality isn't
exceptional.
Place visited: Ansfelden,
St Florian, Steyr and surroundings. Stories about an
unexpected cappella performance in St Florian on the 11th, a performance of the Requiem in
Steyr, talking with the curator of the Geburtshaus, and more, audio-visual presentations
in St Florian Bruckner Museum, Bruckner Merchandising on sale at St Florian, and more.

Above are some of the exhibits at the Bruckner Museum based at the house where he was
born (Geburtshaus).
